One of the most exclusive venues
Quinta do Lago is an exclusive golf resort nestling in nearly 2000 acres of verdant countryside and pine forests bordering the Atlantic Ocean and the Ria Formosa Natural Park, in the Algarve.
The North and Soute golf courses at Quinta do Lago offer different challenges. The terrain is similar on both courses, based on sandy Algarvean soil covered with pine trees, heather, broom and many beautiful wild flowers. The terrain is gently undulating and several lakes feature in the play of each course.
Since its creation in 1972, Quinta do Lago Golf Resort has won several awards for excellence and it is a symbol of quality tourism, a place where outstanding natural beauty is perfectly complemented by gracious living.
Several architects for one project
The Quinta do Lago North Golf Course was designed by several architects. William Mitchell was responsible for holes 1 to 5 and 15 to 18, while Joseph Lee and Rocky Roquemore designed the course from hole 6 to 14.
The North Golf Course offers however, very different challenges. The Quinta do Lago North Course has 4 magnificent Par 5 holes. The Par 4 are generally doglegs, with the exception of holes 10 and 13. The Par 3 holes are influenced by the wind requiring very precise shots. In holes 13 and 18 lakes make a good score quite difficult.
Quinta do Lago North Golf Course has hosted several Portuguese Opens and continues to be the venue for national and international tournaments.
Prime Hole Nr. 12: don't miss it!
This is a wonderful hole, with lake on the left side, which initiates 150 m., escorting the fairway, till near the green. While on the tee off you can use a long iron, the second shot terrifies because have to fly over the big lake. On the green, there are bunkers on the right and on the final, it’s wide and wavy.

How to get there?
National Road number 125, direction to Almancil. In Almancil, follow the signs to Quinta do Lago. Within Quinta do Lago, drive along the main road (Av. André Jordan), until roundabout nr.4; turn right and right again. Free parking, with vigilance service for private cars is available on the surrounding area of the Clubhouse.
