The impressive 18 Hole Championship Boavista golf course has been designed by Howard Swan MSc, past president of The European Institute of Golf Course Architects. His philosophy - to create a golf course as if it has always been there - has been sensitively applied at Boavista Golf, preserving, integrating and harmonising with the area's natural terrain.
Umbrella pines, blossoming almond, fig, palm and olive trees line the rolling fairways of Boavista, weaving their way between water hazards and carefully placed bunkers.
The most interesting holes of Boavista
With two distinctive sections the Boavista Golf Course offers a variety of attractive and interesting holes commencing with the welcoming first hole, a meandering downhill par-4, bordered by beautiful sub-tropical landscaping leading to harmoniously designed properties.
A number of holes at Boavista are already classics - for example, the exciting 6th par 3 requires a tee shot over a natural ravine, while lake holes 14, 15 and 17 provide an interesting array of water features. Breathtaking views over the Algarve and
spectacular scenery combine to make the Boavista Golf Course a delight for golfer and visitor alike.

The signature hole of Boavista Golf, on the outward nine, is the stunning par-4, 7th hole set against a glorious backdrop of the Atlantic ocean with exhilarating panoramic views extending from Praia da Luz round to with the hills at Monchique creating a spectacular backdrop.
